Dissection workshop – Abdominal and thorax

Wed 1 Jul 2026 – Thu 2 Jul 2026 | Amsterdam

Put on your gloves for a unique dissection experience!

ContentLecturersPractical

We are pleased to announce an exclusive two‑day dissection workshop focused on the abdomen and thorax. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to deeply explore the complete visceral anatomy of the abdominal and thoracic regions on embalmed bodies (“fixed for life”), where you will carry out the dissections yourself in small, intensive groups.

Guided by experienced anatomists, this workshop provides an unparalleled hands‑on learning experience. You will work through each step of the dissection process, examining the dynamic architecture of the organs, their peritoneal attachments, and the essential pathways of innervation and vascularisation in the abdomen. In the thoracic region, you will dissect the heart, lungs, and key structures of the mediastinum.

Special attention is given to the natural mobility and variability of organs, as well as clinically relevant pathologies with a clear anatomical foundation.

As a final highlight, this workshop includes the option for “free dissection” in a region of your choice (abdomen or thorax), allowing you to deepen your personal interests and further enrich your anatomical understanding.

What to Expect

  • Hands‑on dissection in small groups for an intense and immersive learning experience.
  • A profound, tangible understanding of visceral anatomy and topographical relationships.
  • Practical insights into the dynamics and variability of internal structures.
  • Expert guidance from experienced anatomists.

We look forward to welcoming you for this in‑depth journey to the core of human anatomy.
